Enviroschools

The Enviroschools Foundation is a not-for-profit trust that supports children and young people to be active citizens, contributing to ecological regeneration and the creation of healthy, resilient and sustainable communities.

Waiheke Primary School has been working with Enviroschools for many years and in 2017 attained Silver level. This means having students and staff actively involved, working from a whole school vision and taking action for a sustainable future.

The Eco Warriors support classroom teachers and students with projects such as the worm farm, composting, waste management and the vegetable gardens.

The enviroschools concept focuses on real life learning experiences through sustainable practice.

Through working together with our community we aim to be a sustainable school that positively gives back to the environment and gives students the skills to make positive choices about their environment and how they care for it.

We welcome any involvement from the parent community. If you would like to volunteer your time or have expertise to share please contact Jayne Alexander, Enviro Leader, at jayne@waiheke.school.nz
