Enrolling at WPS

At Waiheke Primary School we are dedicated to providing a quality education for each child. We believe that the education of your child involves three main participants:

All participants need to contribute to the overall programme for the benefit of that child. If you are interested in enrolling your child/ren at our school, you are more than welcome to meet with the principal and have a tour of the school - please contact the office to arrange a suitable time office@waiheke.school.nz

Environment Court

Waiheke Primary School operates under a ruling from the Environment Court, which sets a roll limit on our site at this stage. Therefore we have an enrolment scheme in place with a home zone.

Enrolment Scheme

All students who live within the home zone are entitled to enrol at the school.

View zoning information here.

Out-of-Zone Enrolments

Each year the Board of Trustees determines the number of places which are likely to be available in the following year for the enrolment of students who live outside the home zone. The Board publishes this information by notice in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school.

Pre-Enrolment

Please contact the school as soon as possible before your child starts at Waiheke Primary School. A special interview time will be scheduled with the Principal or Deputy Principal. This enables us to structure classes with balanced numbers across the school and allows the opportunity for your child to be transitioned into the school thoughtfully.
