Enrolment
Environment CourtWaiheke Primary School operates under a ruling from the Environment Court, which sets a roll limit on our site at this stage. Therefore we have an enrolment scheme in place with a home zone which is detailed in the map and list of streets shown below. Enrolment SchemeAll students who live within the home zone described below and shown on the attached map shall be entitled to enrol at the school. The western boundary runs along Wharf Road to Te Toki Road, then along Te Toki Road to Hill Road, then along Hill Road to the junction of Cory Road and Junction Road and along Cory Road to the intersection of Hauraki Road, then directly to the coastline on the western end of the reserve adjacent to Miro Road, therefore including Miro Road. Continue following the coastline to the intersection of Sea View Road and Brown Road including Brown Road and across the island to the intersection of Ostend Road, Onetangi Road and O’Brien Road. Therefore it includes Brown Road but excludes O’Brien Road and Onetangi Road. From there, follow the coastline back to Wharf Road. NOTE: Both sides of all boundary roads are included in the zone, unless otherwise noted. Proof of residence within the home zone will be required. Each year, applications for enrolment in the following year from in-zone students will be sought by a date which will be published in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school. This will enable the Board of Trustees to assess the number of places which can be made available to students who live outside the home zone.
Out of zone enrolmentsEach year the Board of Trustees will determine the number of places which are likely to be available in the following year for the enrolment of students who live outside the home zone. The board will publish this information by notice in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school. Waiheke Primary School In Zone Roads:NB: All houses on both sides of the street are in zone
Pre-EnrolmentPlease contact the school at least six months before your child will be starting at Waiheke Primary School. A special interview time will be scheduled with a member of the Senior Staff. This enables us to structure classes with balanced numbers across the school and allows the opportunity for your child to be transitioned into the school thoughtfully. Five year olds are transitioned with at least three visits into the new entrant classroom. These take place on Wednesday mornings from 8.30am – 10.30am. |
